The dog rescue center in Mladepovac, Serbia got a call reporting a mother dog and her two puppies left abandoned outside on the side of the road for several days.
The kindhearted women attempted to feed them, but the mother dog was highly protective of her puppies and did not allow anyone to touch them. By the time the rescuers arrived, she had already hidden on the grassy area by the roadside with her litter, shielding them while waiting for her owners to come for her.
Unfortunately, they would never do it.
Thankfully, she was aware that rescuers were coming to help her so she stayed happy and eager to take whatever food they served her.
They returned to the lawn one last time after loading mom dog and her two puppies into their car to make sure no additional puppies were left behind.
The mom and her puppies were discovered by surprise on the open field just a few meters away. The little ones were only a few days old and had not yet opened their eyes. Luckily, they were rescued just in time and brought back to safety. Moli, the mom, has been an outstanding mother to her puppies. She is happy and content to be safe and sleeping in a warm bed instead of being left on the side of the road. The shelter will take care of the small family until they are ready to be adopted.
