In January of 2021, we adopted Harlow from the P.S.A shelter. He had been found in a sealed room while his owner was away on vacation and was severely underweight, causing many potential adopters to overlook him.

After bringing him home, I noticed that he was too afraid to stay indoors. I had to sit with him and reassure him with my words to ease his anxiety. Additionally, I fed him to help him gain some weight.

The following day, he was able to enjoy some playtime with Jada in the outdoors. However, when we had to leave him on his own, he seemed quite miserable. As a result, I had to constantly engage with him, and even allowed him to sleep in my room for a few nights.

Fortunately, he had a good appetite and managed to put on 2 kilograms in just one week. However, he still looked very thin, weighing at least 20 kilograms less than what is considered healthy.

Over time, he became more self-assured and less anxious. He could walk without fear and wasn’t afraid of the dark anymore. In fact, he now loves playing around in the garden. After three months, I decided to take him on his first beach trip and he absolutely loved it!

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit the incredible transformation of Harlow. Today, he’s a happy and healthy dog, brimming with confidence and a bit of mischief. He simply can’t get enough of playing!
