Spencer, a friendly Doberman, was found wandering along the freeway in South Carolina after being hit by a car. He was spotted scavenging for dead animals on the roadside.
Fortunately, Spencer was able to receive assistance from kind-hearted individuals who brought him to Paws & Claws located in Columbia, South Carolina. The veterinarian team was able to clearly identify the injured areas of Spencer’s body. It was observed that he had a fractured back, most likely due to the recent vehicular accident he encountered.
The staff members noticed that the dog had a poorly done ear cropping, most likely done at home. Further examination through x-rays showed that there were sharp bird bones in his stomach, which could have caused severe damage. The dog also had cuts on his legs and head that needed medical attention.
It was apparent that Spencer had suffered from abuse, as he was found wandering alone on the streets. Fortunately, the VCA Animal Specialty Center in South Carolina came to his rescue and delivered some excellent news. Despite his small size, Spencer was going to be just fine. Although he had some damage to his spine, there was hope that surgery could correct it and restore his ability to walk.
Thankfully, his spine surgery was successful, and he was improving in his ability to walk again. Additionally, the veterinary experts found out that the bones in his belly were beginning to come out naturally without causing any harm. All signs were encouraging and indicating towards a positive outcome.
The furry companion is currently undergoing rehabilitation with the aid of caring personnel and physical exercises. The progress he’s making is quite impressive! From needing assistance to walk, he rapidly achieved independence and now strolls on his own without any support. He’s recovered his vitality and is as lively as before. In addition, he’s youthful, gleeful, and has no health concerns. He’s looking forward to living his life to the fullest.
